Developing strategy for a telecoms services start-up
Our Client’s Challenge
Along with a technology-focused venture capital
firm and a highly motivated entrepreneur, we identified the
potential for a telecoms service provider focused on value-added
directory services in the US market.
The challenge was to clearly define the opportunity,
gain financing, create an organization and develop a full
go-to-market strategy.

To maximize the potential of this opportunity, Mercator Partners:
- developed the business plan
- recruited the management team
- raised initial capital
- signed the anchor corporate development deals
We also participated in the initial funding of the firm, taking
equity and gaining seats on the board.
The Results
The firm was successfully established and has launched services
in both the US and Europe; it is currently cashflow positive
and looking to expand.
